Thor is one of the highest Germanic gods. His weapon is the hammer Mjölnir. This hammer like a boomerang returns to his owner after throwing. The hammer as a symbol at the times of missionary works was considered as counterpart to the Christian cross and was the identifying mark of the ""last pagans"". The original of this hammer from the 10th century can be found in the national museum of Copenhagen.
